Elimination of Fuel Surcharges on Award Redemptions Wins Loyalty Leadership Award for SAS Euro Bonus

The SAS Euro Bonus frequent flier loyalty program of Scandinavian Airlines won the Loyalty Leadership Award at the inaugural year of The Frequent Traveler Awards in Houston, Texas recently because of the elimination of fuel surcharges on the redemption of award tickets — something the frequent flier loyalty programs of other airlines worldwide are loathe to do, as it is probable that fuel surcharges are simply another form of ancillary fees.

We applaud Scandinavian Airlines for going against the trend and having the redemption of award tickets on its flights become more consumer friendly.
