$22.6 Billion in Airline Fees

Airlines worldwide are expected to generate $22.6 billion in fees for 2010, of which $6.7 billion is expected to be collected by domestic airlines in the United States, according to this article in the Los Angeles Times by Hugo Martin β€” and that total amount could increase significantly in the future if airlines maximized the range of products and services offered to their passengers.

The total amount of revenue due to ancillary fees in 2010 is reportedly greater than double the amount earned by airlines in 2008.
