Air Canada to be Sued Because of Not Immediately Disclosing Fees?

A Montréal group is seeking permission to launch a class-action lawsuit against Air Canada for allegedly failing to comply with new consumer protection laws effective July 1, 2010, claiming that Air Canada has violated the new laws because it does not include all extra fees in the price of an airline ticket when advertising airfares online, according to The Gazette in Montréal.

If the lawsuit is successful, Air Canada will be required to pay to all passengers who have purchased airline tickets on the Internet the difference between the advertised price and the actual price of its airfares from July 1 until the pricing policy by Air Canada changes.
