Kids flying alone a thing of the past or just more expensive?

According to this article in the South Bend Tribune, Allegiant Airlines quit accepting unaccompanied minors last fall.  TruPrice research shows fees for minors traveling alone, in addition to base fare and fees, range from a low of $49 on AirTran for non-stops to a high of $100 on some of the majors with Virgin America splitting the difference at $75.

The TruPrice demo reflects all of these fees and more.  Our beta, set for a June 30th launch, will allow consumers to perform the fare and fee search on their own and compare airlines side-by-side.
